At HSPA, we are all about cooperating with other organizations at UW and beyond, and we have many people to thank for the continued support for this cause.Here are a few of the organizations we have worked with:

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) The national non-profit organization that sponsors the Out of the Darkness Walks in fall and spring, including HSPA’s 2012 & 2013 campus walks.

ASUW Student Health Consortium — the Associated Students of the University of Washington (ASUW) entity that sponsored Mental Health Awareness Week last year. Its purpose is two-fold: to be a meaningful resource to health-oriented student groups (RSOs) and to promote general health on campus.

Circle K International — a UW RSO that has generously volunteered at both Out of the Darkness walks! CKI is a subsidiary of Kiwanis International and is committed to serving the University community and beyond.cki logo

Forefront: Innovations in Suicide Prevention — a brand new UW-based non-profit organization who we are very excited to be partnering with this year! Forefront is a place where expertise and partnership come together with a passion to save lives, and it’s introducing innovative change to suicide prevention.

Furmata A Cappella — a UW group that generously offered its time and talents to the 2013 Out of the Darkness walk where they performed the national anthem and several uplifting songs.

Yogis at UW — a UW RSO that emphasizes healthy and positive living, particularly through practice of yoga. Yogis gathered together the largest team for Out of the Darkness 2013! Their goal is to share the practice and life of yoga with all UW students by building a strong yoga community at UW.
